Adding a Mesa 2x12 Cab to my Peavey Combo

Oi oi.
I have this:

A peavey valveking 212 combo, which is nice. On the back there is this:

And I want to run my peavey simultaneously along with this:

I imagine I would run a speaker cable from the 2nd output seen on the back of the amp in the picture above, into the input of the mesa.
I would them both at 8ohms of course, since that's what the Mesa runs at. So basically this:

Question is, will this work ok? Basically what I want is the same signal, same power and strength, sent through into the mesa to give another, meatier tone at the same time as my peavey.
Why? Because live this will give a much better spread across the stage and make my band sound a hell of alot more orchestrated and chunkier / better. It also means I don't need to get another damn guitarist!
Is this, in reality, a sound idea? Please let me know!
