Why aren't there really any Pantera cover bands?

There are a thousand cover bands out there for all the other legendary metal acts. I was wondering why that isn't the same for Pantera.
It's fuckin obvious. Because no one can touch that band.

i'm assuming you mean no one can touch them when it comes to expression and energy right? because from a technical standpoint most experienced musicians could easily play pantera songs in their sleep.
i wouldn't want to be in a pantera cover band. it would be fucking boring.

Pantera cover band, playing in any cover band would bore the shit out of me for that matter. And yeah, I am talkin about expressing the music.
Most truly experienced musicians can play any song but Maestro
DickWeed would fall flat on his face playin Pantera the Pantera way.

hmm i think there was some italian guy in a band called Trendkill here 5-6 years ago? it was pretty good....but cover bands shouldn't record.

why not they can record, as long as they realize that they are most likely not better than the original in most peoples eyes.

I haven't heard one band play a Pantera song as well as or any where near as well as Pantera. Shitloads of other acts start out covering
top acts that came before them. Phil was in a band that did a shitload of Judas Priest songs from what I've read. Queen was originally a Zeppelin cover band.Zeppelin even did a shitload of covers even on their albums.
Cover bands aren't stupid dumbfuck. They're only stupid when the covers suck. Just like when an original bands original material sucks it's stupid.
