I just bought one of these

My Ibanez 5-string, which is nearly ten years old, just isn't cutting the mustard anymore, the frets are worn down to splinters, the electronics barely work anymore, and the control cavity is full of a decade's worth of blood, sweat, and semen.

I needed something that could take a beating and has low end that still cuts through an entire pedalboard's worth of effects. I wish it wasn't so conservative-looking (neon green or something similar would have been preferable) but if I ever get a more conservative gig it won't look ridiculous.

Either, plays great, sounds great. Another new toy! :aargh:

Not bad. You got any 6 string basses, too?

No. I think those are unnecessary. I have a seven-string guitar too, so anything that I would compose for a six-string bass I'd simply write for the guitar. I think these guys that have crazy 8-string, 10-string, 20-string basses look like assholes and play really sterile, excremental music. When I play bass in a band, I fucking play the bass. If I want to play super-technical upper-register stuff, I'll just play a guitar or a keyboard.

I want to get me a 6 string bass

the bass player in Porphyria played a 7 string bass, and they were just death metal. He played what they played on their 7 string guitars

That might be interesting.

Truth be told, a six-string bass is just too wide for me anyway. I don't have huge hands.

I have been offered an ESP/LTD F-400 bass for free, should I take it?

Definitely. LTD's aren't bad instruments.

If it's free, take it. If you hate it, you can always sell it.

Nice axe. I'm more than pleased with my Schecter. They make quality shit for being mass produced/korean.

What's a good bass for like $100?

I don't want to do anything serious with a bass, just fuck around, possibly record some backup to some riffs and things I write.

Do you have someplace on your bass to plug your wiener into it?
