Made this topic before but I guess it got deleted or something. They're having one headlining gig in NYC, then they're playing support for Lacuna Coil. People will probably make fun of me for this, but that's ok!

Setlist (not in order/seperated by albums):
Shortest Day
In Between
Alone
Waking Hour
Saturnine
Strange Machines
Eleanor
In Motion #1
Monsters
Liberty Bell
(I may be missing some too, but I forget)
Wish they had more from HTMAP, and something from Nighttime Birds, but they still played over an hour (they also extended some of the songs), and I'm sure even if they played a 3 hour set there would be songs that I wish they would've played after all that. Anneke was fucking spot on too, and I want her to marry me!

I like this band, i would go see them if they came here. Although I like their newer stuff, i do wish they would go back to some of their older sound. Actually, they could try another Mandylion. The sound, the music and the vocals, was PERFECT on that album.
Bodom J funfact: when the gathering first came out, they released a couple of cds without Anneke on vocals and they were more of a death metal band. These albums have been re-released recently.

They also re-arranged some of that death metalish stuff for Anneke to sing (Mirror Waters, Stonegarden, Like Fountains). It's on their live album "Sleepy Buildings" (I can send it to you if you want, just PM me).
Personally, I think "How to Measure a Planet" is what their "sound" is, even though I like all their albums and styles. It just seems so natural. It's funny though, cause their newer stuff and older stuff seem to work well together live, it doesn't sound like two different bands like I thought it would. I mean, I didn't expect them to play 3 songs from Mandylion to compliment 4 songs from Home (), but it fit and it just seemed like the Mandylion songs turned up the intensity a bit.

Supersilverhaze funfact; Supersilverhaze and The Gathering come from the same hometown. Also Supersilverhaze doesn't like them.
