Was it any good or worth the money? Thinking about getting one.

Supposedly it's one of those "once you go black" kind of things.

I haven't heard one used, but just wonder if it is as magical as I have read it is.

I have the stomp model, but im not sure if im going to use it anymore. It seems to me like it is just a 2 band eq.

They only work well on tube amps. The maximizer and a good distortion pedal make my Fender HotRod 2x12 into a metal monster with mongo low end.
It doesnt do a thing for my Solid State amps, and actually makes the Line6 sound worse. It sounds badass clean too. Its the one pedal I wouldnt give up.
Sonic Stomp is what you want BTW.

I have the sonic maximizer in my rack..it doesn't make the biggest difference in tone..but it does tighten up the sound a little more. also like tk said it works as a 2 band eq on top of it..to where if you go from room to room playing..and your tone sounds different..you can quickly tweak it back to a good sound for the room. Or when jamming with a band you can set your lows and highs quickly to match more with the bassist. It's only around 100$ though so it is worth its money..alot of the time you can find them used on ebay or craigslist for 50 to 60 dollars. I'd rather live without my sonic though, than my 31 band eq. The eq can make me shape the sound anyway I want to..given an hour or so messing with it..to dial it in. Can dump all the sounds in your tone you dont like..and boost all the ones you like. You just might as well stop being cheap..and pair an eq with a sonic maximizer to achieve a better tone. :)
