So I don't know a whole lot about amps. I have a shitty Peavy 10 wayy which really is ok but I want louder. I had these two recomended.

Do those seem ok? I own a Boss GT6 as well. Thanks for any input.

My friend just bought a Line 6 Spider combo. It's got a great tone with just a guitar and a cable directly into it. It also has a ton of neat little effects on it.

I don't know anything about the Crate.

Unless you are just getting a practice amp, Crate is useless.

I bought a Line6 Flextone III 1x12 combo amp this summer.
Purchased it for $200 on craigslist. It has some cool amps and effects modelled but it lacks low end punch. I still like my Roland Cube30 for practicing, and go to my Fender HotRod Deville 2x12 for loud playing.
The fender sounds awesome with my distortion pedal and the BBE Sonic Maximizer Stomp. That bad boy will vibrate shit off my bookshelf!

They sound pretty one-dimension to me. I also tend to enjoy the sounds of clean amps that are distorted like Fenders than I do high-gain metal monsters.

I agree Floyd. A good Fender tube amp is hard to beat.

Not true at all, Ive had a Crate for years and its always served me well.
I also have a Peavey bass amp and its ok, try to get the best you can for the amount of money you want to spend.

If you can go to a shop try to play through some amps you like, they'll usually let you mess with stuff just so they can try to make a sale.

I like all line6 products. I also like Marshall stacks.

I use the Marshall with a Preamp bypass MOD to use my
Pod xt live. Got a foot switch wired in, it switches from marshall
clean/lead/leadboost(MODS) to line6 (preamp in).

The possibilties are endless.

I really like the marshall tube combo's, there loud and sound great!
Out standing reverb.

Fender twin , also a great amp

If buying new go for broke and get a great big amp.

Best of luck searching.
Cheers

I don't have any experience with line 6 amps, but I heard they're not very great for gigging. Something about the sound quality decreasing a lot when you turn the volume up. I also read they break down easily. I was looking for a new amp for a while, and read a bunch of reviews on line 6 shit and I read both of these problems occuring often...but who knows.

I finally got the amp yesterday. I got this one Here. So far I am very pleased with it. The sound is a lot better than the shitty 10 watt I had. Thanks everyone for your input.

i have the spider and a friend of mine has that crate, so i've compared the two. i strongly suggest the spider over the crate.

I love my half stack pushed to it's limit with the attenuator keeping it considerate to the neighbours :aargh:

The above is a (1982) JCM800 50W Lead run through a THD Hotplate Power Attenuator into a standard 4x12 1960A Cab. I like the noise it makes

Yeah I've had zero problems with the Line 6 so far. I need a better guitar now.

Get a fender blues jr (tube) and a good distortion pedal. Way better tone than crates or line six. The fenders go 300ish on ebay.
