i read somewhere (revolver?) that hipocrisy's guitarist quit but they're getting another one for the tour

Holma was just the touring guitarist, he only contributed in-studio on Virus. Shame, because he did a great job on it and was pretty great live as I recall. We'll see how the dude from Darkane's chops are.

i never said they sucked. but they out of their league. If they still had their SOANM sound then they would fit but not anymore.

i'd definitely like to hear a longer headlining set from any of the other three bands, but either way it's going to be a few nonstop hours of greatness. i've seen the other three bands multiple times at festivals but rarely get to see them do more than a 15 minute set so no complaints here. this is going to be awesome.

SYE i'm assuming you don't like any of these bands except Suffocation but i want to give you the benefit of the doubt because as you said you're probably more open-minded than you're given credit for.

Fear Factory is good, its been a really long time since I've listened to them though but Demanufacture was my jam back in the day. Hypocrisy and Decrapitated bore me though.

fair enough but have you heard Virus? it's the first album where their (Hypocrisy's) touring guitarist actually recorded and he does most of the solos (so it's not all Tagtgren jerking himself off as usual) and their new drummer Horgh (ex-Immortal).

of the four I'm probably looking forward to Decapitated the least, but i did like most of their last album.

Decapitated is nuts live. Vitek has zero expression when he's going nuts on the kit as if it's all effortless. Perfect sound live. Fear Factory will probably be the shittiest band on the bill.

I saw this show a few weeks back and was quite disappointed. Decrapitated and Hypocrisy showed up late so Decrapitated didn't get to play and Hypocrisy had to do a short set. Suffocation was alright but Fear Factory wasn't as good as they have been. They played a bunch of old stuff.

cool so all the openers should play 45 if all goes well, and i'm guessing a little over an hour for FF?

I think decapitated and hypocrisy were supposed to get about 30 mins, fear factory played about an hour and a half. Should be around 5 hours total for the whole show.

3 hours and 15 minutes of bands, 1 hour and 45 minutes of setup breakdown for four bands. That's around 25 minutes per band. There's nothing odd about that timing.
