Very interesting. This is the only Frank Zappa stuff i like, but it inspired me to check out Al Di Meola, Weather Report, stuff from that era. I always liked jazz stuff in rock songs. Anyone here regularly listen to this?

All the time. John McLaughlin's stuff is absolutely badass. Al Di Meola's Elegant Gypsy album is great shit too.

John Scofield, Di Meola and all that shit is great. Steely Dan is also a guilty pleasure but that's not really fusion as it is just jazz-based rock/pop music.

Also look up the Alex Skolnick Trio, I enjoy his jazz playing even more than his playing in Testament.

Aeon: Just got Elegant Gypsy before my post. Great album. The guitar inspired works are where it 's at for me. John Mclaughlin I will be checking out.

Floyd: Haven't heard much from Scofield, Steely Dan besides the Zappa actually is what got me going in this direction. I thought of the Skolnick Trio and a bunch of things came to mind once i started listening to this.

PRJ: I'll check this out as well as John Mclaughlin. I've seen a lot of these guys played with each other.

Thanks!

when its not just mind numbing soloing and they actually try to play riffs it sounds like a soundtrack to a cheesy 80's porno.

just my opinion of course.

yes that is correct. with lots of soloing but our main keyboards would be organ.

how are you gonna afford that shit? get to a clinical trial. no wonder the best guitar you can afford is a harmony!

I don't just own a harmony guitar. I also own an epiphone guitar and an epiphone bass and I own a piano I got when I was 10.

its time for you to upgrade, son. what kinda drum kit does brad have? a muppets kit like lars had with one cymbal? you dudes need to get to a clinical study so you can buy some good gear. you dont do drugs, no smoking, youre not fat(anymore) and i dont know if i already told you this, but a lot of these places, like the one i called you from, dont test for HIV. you get paid thousands to sit on your ass and watch movies on a plasma tv, screw around on the net, play video games and sleep.
