Does anyone here besides me like Pantera's glam stuff more than their post-Cowboys From Hell stuff?

Power Metal owns!

Find the guitar tabs and play the root note of all the chords you see. Done and done.

Back in the 80's I lived down the street from this hole-in-the-wall bar called Hard Rocks Cafe (not the chain) in Lawton, OK and Pantera played there constantly.

We were there every weekend and sometimes Thursdays (Drown Night! :)) so I must have seen them 20 times back then.

They always rocked but I have to admit it got old seeing them every other weekend.

One day they just split (I believe they went to Dallas) and when Cowboys From Hell came out I freaked. So different from what I remember them. Much much better, IMO.

Not dissing the old stuff. The newer stuff was just more my style.

Yeh i love the old pantera. Definatly not more then post CFH but it definatly has its own awsome quality's, especialy when i need a break from death metal and the likes by still wana keep my feet wet in the metal genre.

it is very true to say it deserves to be heard, some friends of mine choose to say it's just laughable but they're idiots

Despite post CFH being far better IMO i still find it strange that, that is what gave them such great comercial success. Seeing as how pantera was formed around the same time as Motley Crue, the exact same year i think and look at the succes they enjoyed. On top of that pre CFH was far more radio friendly had a much more easy going sound was quite catchy and a very pop feel to it that would have gone over quite well with the overwhelming general masses.

Although im glad they never did otherwise there never would have gone on to become the Pantera i know and love.

I'm a big fan of the early glam albums. I was wondering where can I buy these if that is possible?

You may find Power Metal on CD on ebay. This was the only one of the four to get a CD release. They released the other albums on cassette and vinyl only.

you can also try to look for Classic Fucking Hombres on ebay, but good luck with that. its pantera's rarest album EVER EVER.

The old albums are at least ok, and power metal was great. Some old songs were pretty gay, But all in all they are all right.

No, my mother was best friends with Dave Williams.

She was the one who introduced him and Pantera

when they were both local dallas groups.

WAY before, they were liked enough to have groupies.

At then time when the gigs they got,

were at the basement in Dallas.

Power metal and Projects in the Jungle were awesome :|):

As for the question "does anyone like 80's Pantera better than the CFH and onwards stuff"; It all really depends on what mood im in, I could be feeling like I wanna beat the fuck out of something, Vulgar and Trendkill do the job, then later I'll wanna fuck my girlfriend whilst listening to some quality music, Projects in the jungle does the job.

:pimp:
