I sing too, so at rehearsal I go > Shure SM58 > Behringer Europower PMH2000 > 80-watt optimus floor wedges. yay  The PMH is has pretty good digital effects built in, but I'd trade all of those mod/delay sounds for a built-in compressor.

That kind of wattage is probably what the band next door to us uses. If they are rehearsing, we might as well just turn our amps off because there is no fucking way.

Because it is still working, I plan on going to a Mackie 20 chan with a Crown 2000 power amp once the Yamaha gives it up.

I have the Dean still. It's just not a part of my live rig anymore. It's a nice guitar and it still has sentimental value to me, so I'm not going to sell it. But I realized that no matter what I did, if I played that guitar the only name I would get for myself would be "the next Dime" or just someone who is trying to be Dime. And the only reason most of the guys said that was because I played a Dean ML. Whether or not I even sound much like him didn't matter, because I'm playing the same guitar model he did and they just made that instant connection in their mind.

So I just decided to get a guitar that played better and sounded better that wasn't a Dimebag guitar. I still wanted to get something fairly similar to the body style though because I think it's really comfortable and practical.

Understandable

Yeah, it sucks how if you play a model of guitar made famous by someone, they automatically assume you want to be the next "whoever made that guitar famous".

Yeah. There's pretty much no avoiding that. The only people that can really get away with it are people who play Jackson RR's because it's such a commonly used guitar (or Les Pauls too I guess but I don't really count that).

However, it wouldn't seem like much of a coincidence to most. Dime is my favorite guitarist, but I didn't shell out all the money I had only because my favorite guitarist played that same model. I loved the feel, tone, and look of the guitar so I bought it. But like I said, it's probably a good idea to get a different guitar so I'm not thought of as a "wannabe".
