Something like cool edit pro, I have tried to get it again on my laptop but it keeps fucking up and wont let me use. I don't want protools or anything like that because I just dont like it.
Anyone know of another good smaller program like cool edit pro?

protools

. unfortunately protools is very expensive and also requires expensive periphery equipment in order to use it, and usually runs with macs. reason is a good program too, but it's mostly midi.

You can't record audio with Reason.
Cubase, Audition, Sonar, Acid and Cakewalk all have more features than you'll ever need. I use Cubase.
Audacity is free and good but there are better appz out there.

I did my first two CDs on Cool Edit Pro, but the one I'm doing now is on Cubase. I'm in love with this program now.

Pretty much the same, very underated to be honest. Seeing as you can practically get for free if you have any P2P program.

It IS the same. Adobe bought the company that made Cool Edit in 2003.
