Ok, so about 3 months ago me and couple of guys started this death metal band ( almost tech death metal, but we didnt go that far cuz its stupid , since necrophagist came up everyone wants to play tech :/... anyway ), and were doing REALLY fine, and i mean really, we got like 3 our own songs, and about 5 covers ( death - crystal mountain, necrophagist - stabwound... ), we played only one gig so far, last week, it was fucking amazing the crowd was stunned and they really liked us...
BUT, theres one problem... i really dont like the name of the band... Other guys like it and dont wanna change it, but i think its gay... were called "MARDRAUM"... i mean, cmon how stupid is that?

so, some of you guys probably had the same problem, and i wanna know how you deal with it?

If you are outnumbered then it will be tough to get a name change, unless you come up with something good that everyone likes instead.

I'm the king of dumb band names. It's not like you'll be famous, so who gives a shit?

Me too man, a band name is so fucking hard to come up with. im struggling with my ban's name too. The best we have come up with yet is "Sinister Fix"

Making up a band name is harder than writing songs. Also, shit band names aren't an obstacle to success (Limp Bizkit, Korn..)

those bands are shit too though. it seems a good name gives you a credibility factor. or maybe a good band makes your name sound credible. i digress, what was my point?

yeah. probably because all the good ones are taken. most cool words are now band names so people come up with stupid shit that they pretend is artistic or expressionist. 'taking back sunday' par example.

one of my friends in a metal band and I were taking, and I was telling him about this BB. I mentioned one of the sayings on here "End Yourself"
He liked it so much, it became his bands name.

i'm doing a solo recording project, i'm learning towards naming it "obsolescence." my other pending options are "depraved indifference," "techniques of neutralization," "misplaced fallacy."

I have a solo project or two in the works but I won't give out the names because knowing my luck I'd see a band in three weeks with my band name on it.

theyre always going to sound utterly hackneyed or utterly contrived.

i actually like mardraum, really, pantera is a shitty as hell name, it just sounds metal when you say it though. Mardraum sounds pretty fucking evil

it's original. I doubt another band has it. There's too many metal bands witht he same name. I'm naming my band Walking Dildos

you think that's bad? i was once in a band called "condom". it was funny for about 10 minutes and then i realised they were serious about the name. i quit shortly afterwards.

also there's a band in russia called "pregnant nail". no, noone's heard of them here either.
