how is believing that a certain band is the greatest of all time narrow minded? maybe if i thought the beatles were the greatest i'd post on their message board. it's no coincidence i post here. just because i like one band more than another doesn't mean i don't have a broad musical taste or that i only listen to Pantera. if you believe that pantera's the only band i listen to, then i'm afraid you're being narrow minded.Jericho wrote:don't be a narrow minded toolDBS wrote:pantera is the greatest band that has ever existed

I feel you bro. Coming from a BLS loving piece of shit.DBS wrote:whoever made this thread should realise that pantera didn't make any bad songs. they should also realise that every song they made, regardless of tempo, technicality or tuning was full of aesthetics, passion and out and out genius. i truly believe that every song is full of thought, emotion and brilliance. pantera is the greatest band that has ever existed, and that they didn't set out to make a 'good' song or a filler song or a 'releasable' song. they are pure creativity, from the moment they began to the end mutterings of "I'll Cast A Shadow." Listen up to a band that knows what it's saying.

Unfortunately Pantera didn't stick around too long, but for the time they were around was pretty fuckin sweet and they wrote awesome metal. I'm a long time fan now but I knew they would never be as good as let's say Black Sabbath or Motorhead.DBS wrote:how is believing that a certain band is the greatest of all time narrow minded? maybe if i thought the beatles were the greatest i'd post on their message board. it's no coincidence i post here. just because i like one band more than another doesn't mean i don't have a broad musical taste or that i only listen to Pantera. if you believe that pantera's the only band i listen to, then i'm afraid you're being narrow minded.Jericho wrote:don't be a narrow minded toolDBS wrote:pantera is the greatest band that has ever existed

the fact that Dead Forever is backing me up, albeit indirectly, proves that you are totally and utterly wrong.Jericho wrote:and/or Black Sabbathdead forever wrote:Jericho wrote:Unfortunately Pantera didn't stick around too long, but for the time they were around was pretty fuckin sweet and they wrote awesome metal. I only said the were kinda weak, I really like 'em both.. It's just that Shattered lacks something.. I don't know, It doesn't affect me like the rest of their songs.. And Death Rattle is just a little too repetitive.HoustonKJ wrote:13steps wrote:Shattered is the only song post Power Metal I think is kinda weak... and possibly Death Rattle.
I think Shattered is fucking awesome as all hell.
It's the most impressive opera vocals i've ever heard...
FREEZING - there's no FEELING...
EVERYTHING IS DYING
this world is SHATTERED!!!! .... shaaaaa DAAAaaaaaaaaaaaD!!!
and also, Death Rattle - - it's brutal. Straight TGSTK material right there.

I have to admit it is a bit uninspired .... compared to the leadoff songs of EVERY SINGLE other album they've MADE from CFH-TGSTK.Leviathan wrote:Boring riffs, and the whammy pedal sounds terrible in it.vinchenz wrote:No fucking way, what is wrong with Hellbound?
Infact I must say RTS really only takes off for me once Yesterday Don't Mean Shit comes on, segueing (sp?) into Revolution Is My Name.
From there on the album dominates.
and for the record,
You've Got To Belong To It and
We'll Grind That Axe For A Long Time
are highly underrated.
If you can't bench her, don't fuck her.

I can't speak for the last 3 mentioned however 'cause I do not delve into pre-CFH.

Since I Can't make a new thread...here goes of Cowboys what dominates is Heresy, The Sleep...Vulgar, the whole album, FBD equals Strength, Becoming, Shedding Skin, Trendkill= Trendkill, 10's , suicide note, Reinventing = Revolution through UpliftHoustonKJ wrote:I have to admit it is a bit uninspired .... compared to the leadoff songs of EVERY SINGLE other album they've MADE from CFH-TGSTK.Leviathan wrote:Boring riffs, and the whammy pedal sounds terrible in it.vinchenz wrote:No fucking way, what is wrong with Hellbound?

Lyric wise, possibly my two favourite Pantera songs. Pantera has to be one of the most consistent band ever.HoustonKJ wrote:I have to admit it is a bit uninspired .... compared to the leadoff songs of EVERY SINGLE other album they've MADE from CFH-TGSTK.Leviathan wrote:Boring riffs, and the whammy pedal sounds terrible in it.vinchenz wrote:No fucking way, what is wrong with Hellbound?
