well for one i'm not saying there is any good reason behind it because there isn't.
i've always had the state of mind that everything happens for a reason but not this. to me this is something that is 200% wrong in every fact of just being in this world. DIME should not be gone for any reason.
we all love him, respect what he has done for us musically, meeting him just being him as in not having the "fame" take over who he truely was,
and being an insperation to all those that love our music and trying to be the best muther fuckers we can be at what we do.
the only thing i can see in my eyes that dimes murder has done in my life, is make me pic up a pair of drum sticks again.
im 26 and was a drummer for 9 years. last band was black metal and actually went some where and i gave it up before my daughter was born to be there for my new family.
couldn't tour anymore or party like i have been for that reason.
but just recently spent over $2000.00 on a new mapex 10 piece set
to take my dream as far as possible.
and my buried insperation that i had lost for the past 5 years has been dug up and reborn from the passing of DIME!
it made me wake up and appreciate everything i was trying to do with music, and let me know that i can never give up for any reason.
it will still never be a good reason no matter what it's done for any of us but it's the best i can truely see through my eyes.
and i love dime more for waking me up to jam again.
just wish it could have been a different way.

Yeah, he should team up with upyourasshole. Anyway, I had a guitar player tell me that a lot of guitarists have been re-inspired by Dime's death. Plus, it brought Pantera into the light, gave Dime legendary status, and most of all, taught everyone that hard lesson that Phil talks about. It should also educate people more about mental illness.

Before Dime was killed, I wasn't happy in my band, and when he died I realised that life is too fucking short to waste time. So i quit the band i wasn't happy in and I'm currently working my ass off to get the band I WILL be happy in, to play the music I truely wanna play. Thats the only positive thing thats come from dimes death, its shown no matter who the fuck you are, life is too short, and that has inspired a lot of people including myself. Its just such a fucking shame that the lesson couldn't have been learned in a better way. I'm more determined now than I ever was to get out into the world with my music, and live the life i so truely long for.

i was just trying to find some fucking reason that could have made any sence to me why dime did die.
i know there is no good reason but i had to try to come up with something.
and reading what the effect was from more than just me made me know i wasn't alone and more felt that it had inspirered them to do more than what they were doing.
