The first 20 minutes was true glory for me. They tried to bury Phil most of the 2nd half of the show. Only my opinion but there are truly 2 sides to this and this program will make things worse between the 2 sides.

I wouldn't be surprised if shit hits the fan when Down starts playing Britain and Europe where the fans angry from seeing the vh1 special and reading the articles started throwing bottles, cans, bags of piss and shit at phil because there so many loyal people on this planet to the Abbott Brothers .

I didnt get to see it.

that shit was rough. they really didnt have to show the footage from the club. i know you dont see much, but the audio and video of the shit wasnt necessary. they focused too much on phils problems, and dimes old lady aint half bad for a chubby girl

Watch it at midnight bud. I think Rex said it best when he stated it was a bunch of "he-said, she said B.S." This will be way overblown now. I can say I feel for both sides here. I think Vinnie should just bury the hatchet. A lot of anger is being unjustly vented at Phil in my opinion.

Yeah both sides spoke but every commercial break was started after "before the lead singer self destructed and killed the band" and shit like that.

yea, they really ripped the shit outa phil the 2nd half of it... but over all i thought it was an alright show. He kinda had it commin, after how he treated the band when he left.

well i got to say even with dime gone. if all hatchets were buried. between everyone wich i dunno if that will ever hapen id like to see pantera reunite and do a tour. just not sure who would be best for the spot left absent by dime. ive came to the conclusion its all messed up what happened. but hey id still like to see em play again. maybe its just me but id buy a ticket.

I don't think the show ever implied that. I think what we saw was Vince's point of view on the matter, and Phil's. And Phil sure didn't help his case out by being drugged up or drunk for the interview.

What I'm seeing on this board are people who flat out do not believe a word Vince, Rita and the other members of the Pantera crew are saying about Phil. They will defend Phil no matter what. It's been so clear after RTS came out that Phil was more interested in his side projects than actually getting back together with the band. Notice how Phil never made a mention about putting out another album. He just said he never received any phone calls. Whether that be true or not, look at where we stand today. No studio album since RTS. You can't say that the Abbott's didn't want to put out another one. Phil just kept on rambling about his god-like complex on stage and off. Too many people kiss his ass.

I think Rex, vince, and phil need to sit down and just fuckin talk, make up, and be friends again. They cant let the past ruin the future! The i say they should get bak together with zakk wylde playin guitar and do a DIMEBAG rememberence tour!

i maybe wrong on that also. there are also 4 separate members performing on that stage as well along with phil and many people are fans of that other band also and many people will probably act on their best behavior for the sake of those other members.

Not true here. When you have a traumatic loss you're looking for someone to point the finger and Phil is that guy. Both sides have fault here in my opinion.

I've never posted here before, because I haven't had much to say about Pantera since Dime's death, but watching that tonight, I wanted to search out a place where people were talking about the show everyone saw tonight.

I wanted to throw my goddamn beer bottle at the screen when Phil was talking towards the end. I don't remember a damn thing that fucker was saying, but it pissed me off something fierce.

Overall, I'd say it was a very emotional, well-put together show. I wish they would've had some interview footage of Dime from when he was alive or something tho. It just ain't the same without him being on there.

i just wanted to say that i think enough damage has been done..the surviving members should put the past behind for dimebags sake.now is when they truly need each other.the past is gone. why not get together and create for dimebag.at least bring out a positive from this tradgedy.right now everyone loses .the band the family, and the fans.Dimebag could never be replace d,but someone like Zakk Wylde who loved Dimes music and understands the beauty of this style of music could help fill that void.and Dime could still live on in what he loved and originally created.Otherwise we all suffer even more. It seems kinda sad that an opportunity to showcase the band we love on a major TV show is overshadowed by finger-pointing.

Nobody got shit on in the show. They did what they could with an hour and in my opinion they did a great job. The show was very upsetting, it was like a reality kick to the face, Pantera is really over. I cant believe it ended like that. I still cant believe Dime was taken like that.

I was expecting the worst actually. Still, I'd say almost half of the show focused on the downfall of Phil (drug use, alienation etc.) and the tragedy. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the Vulgar and FBD days.
I don't see fences being mended and I see a definite Phil camp and Abbot camp for a long time unfortunately.

My heart goes out to the Abbot Family,It was difficult seeing the footage,but what really was troubling was the "Smacked Out" condition Phill was in for the shows interview.He looked higher than a Georgia Pie In The Sky! It would be a big mistake for Pantera to reform,you cannot replace a Giant of a Musician and a man like Dimebag,and you certainly cannot salvage a broken band with a disingenious junky like Phil.
