Fender Jazz Bass
Fender Jazz Bass
I am saving up for a new bass, and I am thinking about the Fender Jazz. I know that many good bass players (including some metal bass players) use them. http://www.music123.com/Fender-Standard ... 8067.music
I am looking at that one. Anyone have advice for me?

If you're going to get a Fender bass, a Jazz is the only way to go.
Izzy: do you realize how broad "environmental science" is?
Izzy: it's like going to school for history
Izzy: well, more useful than that
Izzy: but an expert on the civil war won't know jackshit on uhh
Izzy: something that isnt the civil war

Definately. I don't like precisions. They have a weak sound to me. The jazz, on the other hand, has a round, warm sound and incredible tone. And to walbass, If I do in fact get that, I am going to get brown sunburst with either a black or shell pickguard. Here is the shell: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/fg= ... id/361326/Pflöyd wrote:If you're going to get a Fender bass, a Jazz is the only way to go.

couldn't tell if that was sarcasm, but in case not: it's an mtd beast4. plays fucking sweet. excellent range of tone. wenge fingerboard has amazing action. probably the best purchase ever, although at times i wish i'd gotten it in 5 strings instead of 4.hektik wrote: holy shit that bass is fucking GREAT looking! How well does it play, how is the sound? What make is it? Looks like a BTB.

jazz bass
I have a 5-string Fender American Standard Jazz Bass, and it is probably the best bass I have ever played. It stays in tune all the way up the fretboard and the tone is awesome. I have a 4-string Ibanez too, but it just doesn't compare. Make sure you find the color you want, though. I just got the one the music store had in stock. It's like a metallic purple color. It's all right, but I'd much rather have a more "metal" color. But damn, it's a very nice bass.
