I'm just getting into this band, and enjoying it alot. I picked up this godless endeavor yesterday and must say its class. Well, getting to the point, are all NM songs on 7 strings? or what songs can i play on a sixer?

They started using 7s on Dead Heart. Everything before that was 6s. I'm pretty sure they are 1/2 down on everything.

Half down on everything. Psalm of Lydia is in Drop C#, that's one of the only 6'ers I know of on that album though...

I just learned the lead to "The River Dragon has Come", "The Psalm of Lydia" in the beginning, and the lead/solo on the title track of TGE.
Really fun stuff. Needs some metronome work though

for six string, listen to the politics of ecstasy. The song 42147 is my personal favorite off of it.

Nevermore's Jeff Loomis and Steve Smyth both are great guitar players strongly influenced by Yngwie malmsteeem.
some songs are played on sixers, some on sevens, and some sixers tuned to sevens. dpends on the song

Dude, i heard that Metallica are tuning to DGCFAD and using a metronome on their next album!

Guitar World: Is there any new ideas the band has come up with since the release of St. Anger that you will be using on this new album?
Kirk Hammett: Well we were checking out this message board on the internet and they reccomended tuning to DGCFAD. We really like this tuning. It is just like playing in your standard EADGBE tuning, but everything is one step down.
James Hetfield: Yeah and uhh, This one guy gave me an idea of tuning to BAGDAD... a very tricky tuning. Actually i just play regular chords over this tuning and i think it really works. Really i dont know what to do with it, but this tuning rocks. It's like, well you got 2 D strings, and 2 A's... a B string. And i usually just shove the G string up my ass before we rehearse... It gives me that extra push over the top with this tuning.
GW: What is the name of this message board?
JH: Panterachat.com... They are a bunch of assholes there, but they know alot about tuning and they also turned me on to using a metronome. It's a really good practice tool!
KH: We also found our new bass player there too!
GW: Oh really? What is his name... Have we heard him before?
KH: His name is Robert Hollis. He is a phenominal musician, and endorsed be epiphone!
JH: He was in a few local bands, in and around casper wyoming. One entitled 'HOLLIS' Which sold millions. His second album "Vulgar Display of Manners" was spectacular!
Another great album to check out is Darkthrone:Grim Norwegian Aids Metal. His aids really shone through on that album.
