yeah, it's a pretty rad tune, but i don't like Vulgar display as a whole as much as the other albums.

Not really, the solos good but the throes of rejection solo is about 100000000 times harder to play.

I reckon MFW is a good song but its definitely not one of their best. It all sounds a bit thrown together. Rex doesn't really do anything interesting (listen to his line behind the Walk solo for comparison!) and there isn't any cohesion between the vocals and the rest of the song. It's definitely one of Phil's less awesome moments. It's like he just threw the lyrics together one day and waited around for a bit of music to fit them to. It sounds like CFH leftovers to me.
Vinnie however is on top form. As always.

That's the trouble with being a bassist though. Do you want Cliff Burton or Les fucking Claypool on every album or something?
Bass is about flow, it's about dynamics, it's about tension, weight and emphasis. Rex is a master of all that and more - I just don't think he was all that interested in MFW when they were jamming/recording it. It comes through in the subtleties of his playing, not the exact note sequence - go have another listen and, like I said, compare it to some of his better moments like Walk or 5MA.
