its halfway between E and Eb. like every other song on that album except walk and a new level, which are halfway between D and Db. dime only used dropped D on primal concrete sledge.
CFH - all halfway between E and Eb except primal concrete sledge which is dropped D (tuned a 1/4 flat)
VDOP - all halfway between E and Eb except a new level and walk which are halfway between D and Db
FBD - all halfway between E and Eb except becoming, 5 minutes alone, im broken and use my third arm which are halfway between D and Db
TGSTK - all halfway between D and Db, except the underground in america and sandblasted skin which are GGCFAD (tuned 1/4 flat)
RTS - all halfway between D and Db, except i'll cast a shadow (and possibly it makes them disappear, not sure) which is dropped C (tuned 1/4 flat)

By the way to get alot of those tunings exactly your going to need a pretty decent rackmount tuner, or a very keen ear and patience.

mouth for war is in standard.
tgstk and rts are in c# (1 and a half step) apart from a few occasional songs which are in the drop.
farbeyond driven is in d# (half step) apart from planet caravan.

Chris already posted all the correct tunings.

Its in E flat, or close to it, so setting the low string to d would mean you would not only have to make weird ass fingerings for the chords, but youd have to move it further up the neck and memorise it that way to learn it.

Any interview where Dime talks about his tuning shows that he never played in normal tunings. He always re-calibrated his tuners. If a song was in "D standard", it was actually a 1/4 of a step lower than that.Aeon wrote:What the fuck. Yeah sure. Or you can just tune to D standard.warhead dime wrote:Any interview where Dime talks about his tuning shows that he never played in normal tunings. He always re-calibrated his tuners. Obviously. But if anyone wanted to tune to Dime, then that answer is for them.Aeon wrote:Yeah sure. The real reason the tuning sounds fucked is because it was done in standard E-flat tuning. What the sound engineer did to fuck everyone up is speed the song up 1% or what ever.
This give you the illusion of it being tuned 1/2 a semitone higher (then everyones favorite E-flat) when recorded.
I use a program called Transcribe. It is a small proggie that allows you to change the pitch or the speed of a song to any percentage high or low by 99% either way.
So you tune your guitar to 440 and open transcribe which is basically a music player that allows you to adjust the pitch til the song is playing with you in the right key. Then you can slow down or speed up the song, but the pitch wont change. So me being a lazy Fuck I keep my guitar tuned to 440 when learning tunes and speed up E-flat tuning so I dont have to tune down
Amazing little tool - I use it to figure out songs and solos I have no tab for.
It also lets you click on a spot in a song and right lick and it loops that area, pause and reloop or whatever.
The program and key gen zipped is only 1,078kb If any know where I can dump a copy to an ftp site or I could email it to someone who also has a website to share it with everbody.
Let me Know!
