Have any of you used or own this pedal?

I want to get a harmonizer for one part of a solo i do with my band, to recreate the harmony live. I'll probably just overdub in the studio, and the pedal wont sound as good as real guitar. But it would also be cool to tinker with.

How does this pedal compare to the digitech whammy's sound?

I could be wrong, but the Whammy pedal isn't an intelligent pitch shifter. IF you don't know what that is, basically a regular harmonizer just doubles the note by a certain interval, and always does. That doesn't always work in certain keys though, where you'd want to harmonize with a fourth instead to keep the harmony notes in key.

The pedal shown there is very good because you can adjust the key on pedal itself and will automatically set the harmony interval to coincide with the key you are soloing in to prevent any "wrong" notes.

By the way, the other difference is the fact that the whammy has an expression pedal to bend the pitch in real time, this Boss pedal is either on or off unless you get a seperate pedal to operate it through the EXP input.

I have the whammy. The harmonizer works fine on it if you just want basic harmonys, theres quite a few options. Its really not worth buying the pedal for that part alone though.

Thanks for the help. Sounds like i'll get the boss over the digitech. The boss is also pretty small compared to a big processor sized pedal.
Keeps my pedal board size to a minimum.

Good deal
