I'm pretty sure that if you buy one of these your tone problems will go away.

IF U WANT TO HAVE A DEEP METAL CRUNCH SOUND OUT OF YOUR AMP
CRANK YOUR BASS ALL THE WAY UP TURN YOUR MIDS ALL THE WAY DOWN TURN THE TONE ALL THE WAY OFF ON THE GUITAR
IF YOU HAVE 5 WAY SWITCHING PLAY WITH THE NECK PICKUP

if the hostility is towards my recordings i put up, ill repeat my piece about how easy it is to tell someone they suck, and how it does everyone a lot more good if you offer constructive criticism/advice(all im really asking for)

well im not really sure what to help you with dude. usually when im not feelin my settings i put everything up around 9, as long as theyre at the same place, same thing with my dist. then i just work from there. i.e; ill put the bass lower, raise treble, just small steps at a time and shit like that. for crunch i usually just fiddle with dist levels and gains, and if your not feelin somethin, buy a new dist pedal. always gotta keep in mind though that guitars are a mid-range instrument, and when your by yourself in your room, its gonna sound so different then when your in a big room/with a band. small steps man, small steps

you're about a fuckin stroke, so i dont even wanna hear about it. seriously, its not MY fault the lacrosse team made you eat the soggy cracker in high school, but its time to move forward. now do yourself a favor, shave, take a shower, maybe do something with your hair, and stop being so bitter. being more "METAL" than me is not the answer, you think you look tough or something, and you really are nothing more than an elitist bitch.

Ever try modding your amp?
This guy, Kevin O'Conner, was the marshall modding God.
Now he just writes the books on it!

i couldnt actually fuck with the guts of this thing, i love it too much as it is... i talked to my friend who is like a guitar/effects guru, hes been at it way longer, and he basically showed me the "rock balls knob", as he put it.

try out a tubescreamer pedal, if you cant afford an Ibanez or Maxon one then get the Behringer TO-800 i thik its called, its only $30 i think, sounds just as good as the Ibanez and Maxon ones apparently.

I don't blame ya, I have two 100w JCM 800's
One sounds so good I only put a out board reverb input jack on it
The other I modded the hell outta it: clean (4 band eq) channel, pre amp in, multi effects loop, lead Boost. presence knob, etc: custom 4 button footswitch-clean, dirty, lead boost and preamp channel swicther and a bunch of other shit. (great practice amp)
Help it out alot but ya can only pray that it will be worth the money and effort. I got lucky and it passed all live (mic'd) tests. But I still use the
other one 90% of the time.

I heard good things bout the tube screamer.
Do ya get more gain with it, or what?
Posted: Tue Mar 21, 2006 4:06 pm
by abyssspecter
the way i get a pretty good crunch is do it Kerry Kings way. On my marshall, ill max my overdrive, put my Bass around 8, treble at 8.5, mid at nine, and then my tone is the noon position.
On my ibanez, ill rock everything almost maxed, turn down my tone to about 2, and put my treble and mid at 9.5.

if used properly it smooths the gain and gives it more definition, make sure you run it through your amps overdrive channel.
