alright this new bass has these fucking little scratches on it... anyway i bought some wood putty that matches the colour and a fine sanding block


its not even a really big deal but since its new it kind of pisses me off cause when i jerk the neck off i can feel these bumps aka the little pitted scratches


very tiny but there right around the 3-4th fret on the neck


any suggestions before i tottally fuck it up

Yeah cover putty all over those tiny little scratches in your rosewood frettboard, that shall fix things right up

iv never used this wood putty before, dont know if it will make it smooth or make it really messy and slow my hand down when goin up an down

I'm not sure wood putty would be a wise idea. It'll look weird and might fuck with the resonant qualities. I'd possibly lightly sand it. Unless the scratches are deep or fucking with your fingers in some way, I'd leave them be.

also its not the fretboard its the neck.. opposite side of the fretboard nah mean

ill gently braise this fine sand block over it a few times

woot this was a sucess... i used the wood putty marker then i sanded it with the fine sand sponge and its nice and soft now

Might want to oil it or something where you've sanded it to protect the wood.

eh i mean like running my hands up and down the fretboard while playing

it wouldn't bother me
if im sliding, my thumb is mostly the only thing on the neck.
