come on you fucks.
on a related topic. what the fuck do you do with tone control shit/pedals...to get rid of a dirty/crunchy tone during leads/soloing? like what's his face from shadow's fall when he pinch squeals. it's not dirty or pinchy at all. it's like a regular high note. i know you know what the fuck i'm talking about. help a honkey out.
I'm getting great at guitar and tone shit like this is only just starting to bother me. I never gave a fuck before. now I do. that's where you come in

Jon Donais from Shadows Fall doesn't use a shitload of distortion in his tone, so I'd imagine that's what makes his pinch harmonics sound clean like that. Plus studio magic would help, also.

You gotta make a pinch harmonic scream right outta the gate or it doesn't fly. New strings and proper intunation on a mad axe is a good start. I'm wavering on my EMG's now, moving on to other pick-ups.

thanks, buddy. now feel free to repeat that...mixing in a word or 2 of english. jk
by scream out the gate, you mean...nail it just right? or have the right pickups? or the amp's gotta take care of the tone, and not some effects loop stuff? or all three?
I'm gonna go play some other guitars through my amp at gc and see if I get my squealies to come out right. ther3's no excuse at this point.

all three, pinch harmonics usually need more distortion/gain/overdrive to really scream, but all of that doesn't help at all if the technique isn't done correctly...
you try those settings i gave to you yet?

yeah, dude. i think maybe our versions of 'perfect metal tone' are different or soemthing. the AC30 bro? (i think that's what you recommended). that thing sounds like picadilly finger knockin with the gain and volume both on ten, like I'm the polish chet frickin atkins

. probably don't sound that way for you, but it does for me
I don't even use one amp on the left side of the dial. I'm either on recto, uk 80/90's or us high gain.
either my pickups are straight gout...or yours are the best ones on earth. I have a feeling it's both of those, and I'm fucked no matter what with this thing. it's all subtle shit anyway, my problems and gripes with it. it's fuckin awesome. I just got 2 or 3 tones in my head and I can't nail any of em with the vox so far (not giving up yet). I'm going to get my cousin's prs tonight and try that out.
thanks anyway.

that 's weird, did you get the BBE, too? That's the key, man, If I could record the tone of my settings, you'd shit a brick, and I usually play it either with my Parker P-44, my ESP-LTD H-207 seven-string, or my Jackson Soloist with EMG's...
like I said in the PM, though, basswoods aren't a good midrange wood, as most Ibanezes are made of...
the tone I'm getting resembles a sharper Crowbar-like tone when using the seven string, and crisp, yet extremely beefy tone (think a slightly less trebly FBD-era Dime tone) when using the six-stringers...
the recto tones annoy me to no end, because they are way too gritty SS sounding, the US high gain is pretty good, and I had the same thoughts on the AC30 tones before i hit the buttons on the BBE, then that bitch just blew me away...

no shit, huh? maybe i got the fucker hooked up wrong. there's only one type a 462 bbe yeah? it's black, got the 2 channels both with 2 knobs and the button in the middle. I'll give it another whirl. how do you got it hooked up? and which side of the bbe do you use? it don't matter does it?

yeah, run it stereo, utilize the full potential of the effects loop, amp's left out to BBE's left in same with right side and vice versa...
you may want to max the mids and adjust the presence, as the BBE can scoop the tone a little; but also, what cabs did you get? That may be adding to your tone issues as well, so roll back the BBE settings a couple of cunt hairs and make some adjustments with your EQ...and make DAMN sure you keep the gain at less than 2:00 on the AC30 setting, because maxing the amp gain and the BBE settings together will cause all the cats and dogs in your neighborhood to go apeshit...
you just have to fuck around with it, and maybe use some stompbox settings in there too to get what you want, those dudes i told you about use the UK Modern amp settings in combination with the treble booster stompbox setting and into the BBE with the settings about 2:30, and they have some seriously wicked tones, too....
