Can you guys suggest some decent songs to play for bass? The only interesting stuff I've heard is with Rex, but I don't where else to look.

There are much more interesting bass riffs out there than Rex's buddy!
For the majority of the time he's playing pretty simple lines. Don't get me wrong, he has his moments but they're pretty few & far between

I'm sure the bass guys here will help you out! :)

In the mean time, check out Red Hot Chili Pepper's stuff. Not very metal but they have some interesting bass work. I'm sure you'd be able to play parts!

 , i usually play guitar, and i got my bass before i bought my guitar, so im pretty lost. I just noticed the bass lines when i play pantera stuff, and they seem pretty colourful for bass. Thanks anyway,

Tommy the cat-Primus
My Name Is Mud-Primus
(infact pretty much all primus)

The Clansman-Iron Maiden
Bad Omen-Megadeth

Those are all the stuff i can think of off the top of my head, theres a cool bass tapping fill in take no prisoners by megadeth too, and alot of maidens stuff is cool.

Some favorites of mine to play on bass are:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul To Squeeze
AIC - Nutshell
System Of A Down - Spiders
Metallica - Fade To Black (although I have my own bass line for it that makes it 5000x better and more fun)
Down - Jail

metal very rarely has good bass parts, its just slamming along to the guitar line at constant 1/8th or 1/16th notes.

I've played most of the back catalogue by Rage for both Guitar and Bass, and the Bass lines arn't too interesting. But saying that, I don't have a Bass Wah so that could liven' shit up.
