buy a metronome, and then another one, and then 4 more, and u have a jungle of metronomes, and click them off at different speeds so it gives u a drum sound. that way you dont have to play at drums because u blow.

could someone transalate. If you mean playing open (not crossing over) its not that hard and makes hitting toms that much easier, and much more solid because you play them w/ right hand.

Flams and dynamics are not the same. A flam is a rudiment, dynamics are ghostnotes and accents, different levels of volume, which would be very hard to to if you never move your arms.

I still encorage you to go to www.drummerworld.com and watch the vids of the greats play. They use their arms and wrists. You also keep saying you are a jazz drummer, but most jazz, and all music for that matter is done in 4/4 time.

An accent is done eather as a rimshot, or by raising the height that you swing the stick. A flam is a rudiment where you do a ghostnote strike (low stick height) just before you strike with the note. Furthermore you arrogant piece of shit a ruff is a flam with more than one ghostnote hit before the note. .A flamdiddle (also known as flamtap), is where you diddle the note. I expect u will understand if you pick up a basic book of drum rudiments. A flam will create a thicker sound if done correctly, but is is not an "accent" so to speak.

Any dumbass knows that most modern music is done with 4/4 time signiture, but if you would like to tell me some to listen to I would love broaden my horizens abit. I am also curious how fast can you really play with out using your forarm at all? And have fun with tendonitis

define ages; 1920's was the swing era. Buddy Rich was one of the first great jazz drummers. He was born 9/20/1913. By the way you should check out Louie Bellson, another great jazz drummer and the first to use a 2 bass drum setup.

I have not heard of such a drum, and should not be refered to as a double bass, more justly a single bass that you play w/ your feet (instead of hands like concert drums), poor design could not fit a snare inbetween your legs. You could not use that in a drumset setup, Louie Bellson was the innovator who opened of the doors for double drums, and first used them in his setup. I would like to see a link to it though, if one truly exists.

As for the ages referance I guess def leppard were right, you can be rock of ages, even when your drummer looses an arm after a few short years If only it were true that ac/dc summed up all of rock music. Too bad you forgot about John Bonham, Keith Moon, Carmen Apiece, and many others who led the fight. Other wise a like you would be right.

By the way I did very much like watching some of the Billy Cobham videos, great drummer, kinda like Louie with a little more of the modern sound.
