on another note, i just ordered some lizard spit guitar polish + fretboard conditioner for my nylon that i'm excited about, and i've been busting my balls getting my chops good for my lessons coming up in june

thanks
i just took some masking tape and put it over the fret marker upside the neck and squared it all off so it would look kind of professional.
i used 600 grit water paper, but beware because if you press to hard you will go right through the paint and hit the sealer. If you hit the sealer it wont look as good as one solid colour imo.
I cleaned my fretboard a couple weeks back and i'm kinda regretting it because i put way to much lemon oil on and it has literally been taking it weeks for the wood to dry out. Drenched rosewood from lemon oil feels very sticky and tacky, it's like your fingers get stuck on the board when you bend and do hard slides(annoying as hell). It has been about a month and it is drying out. While it is drying out it also changes colour from that dark rosewood to a lighter almost redwood.
Next guitar i buy is going to have a maple fretboard
edit- i used 000 grade steel wool to clean my fretboard/frets and it worked great. i just went overkill with the lemon oil (drenching it and letting it sit for like 45 minutes)

you are supposed to dip your guitar in mineral spirits after you use oil on the fretboard. van halen does it

lol the sanded neck or the fretboard?
the sanded neck feels and is faster then the glossy paint.

i tried this fender fretboard conditioner and finger ease and it made my fretboard feel normal again.
for those who didn't read, i cleaned my fretboard with 0000 grade steel wool and lemon oil and it made my fretboard feel like crap (lots of unwanted drag and friction)
After trying the conditioner twice and using the finger ease my fretboard worked its way back into feeling slick with no unwanted friction

eh, was exagerating a bit. just don't like that stuff, it doesn't feel right to me and it doesn't wipe off easily either.

right on
i spray it only when im about to play (pretty much till it wears off) but yeah i could see the possibility of rust being an issue if i were to spray my strings/board then store my git with all the oily finger ease shit on it.
