I was told that they weren't playing any stuff off Low/Demonic/The Gathering. Is this true? If so, fuck this tour, and fuck Alex Skolnick for being too fucking lazy to learn some superior Testament material.

Untrue. They played at least one song from every album to my knowledge. In a 90 minute set they only played three off Formation.

(More Than Meets The Eye, Persecuted Won't Forget, and title track...was really hoping for Killing Season

)

and for as much as i'm usually all "yeah OLD unearth is okay and then uhh...", the only song of theirs i
didn't
through was off the march.
as stereotypically xmelodramaticx as it is, We Are Not Anonymous is actually a pretty badass anthem.

overall it is. that's why i was shocked that the
one time my ears perked up was for the aforementioned WANA. you can blame maaaaaybe some of it on the sound. 50/50. they just didn't play with any "oomph". the frontdude's stage presence was limited to fistpumping and making little circley motions with his finger whenever the fanboys in the pit slowed down for a breather.

I've got $30 in my bank account. If I bought a ticket, I couldn't buy gas to get me back from Baltimore

First of all Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson were great. Chuck Billy was really having a great time down in Philly. Very fucking loud show, which is what i was expecting. I got all kinds of tuned up and ripped it up in the pit (as long as i could take it) then ripped it up again. Good crowd.
Here's the setlist.
The Preacher
Practice What You Preach
The New Order
Over The Wall
Sins Of Ommision(i went apeshit)
More Than Meets The Eye
The Persecuted
Demonic Refusal
True Believer
The Legacy
Into The Pit
Souls Of Black
Electric Crown
Disciples Of The Watch
encore
D.N.R.
Three Days In Darkness
The Formation Of Damnation
You should of borrowed some money from your mom Izzy!

So there I was trying not to

during Unearth's gayfest, not really paying attention when all of a sudden who walks through the crowd down to the front and stands right next to me but Kirk fucking Windstein and his old lady. It was the only redeeming part of their set. He hung out for a little while, walked around and left his lady alone, then came back around the time Testament went on. They stayed for a song or two then went up to the balcony when shit got too intense. Testament fucking ruled too.

How was the Crowbar show? I just read that Steve left the band.

Crowbar was great. Dude from Kingdom of Sorrow was on guitar, Sammy Duet also played on two songs. They did instrumentals of two new songs which were pretty heavy. I guess the lyrics weren't written yet.

Closed with Planets Collide, I think that was it. Kirk had a lyric cheat sheet for the first three songs because he said he hadn't played them in a long time, first time with this line up. One of them was I Have Failed, I forgot the others.
