how long was Hypocrisy's 'short set'? and how long did Suffocation play?
hypocrisy played four songs, suffocation played about 45 minutes
cool so all the openers should play 45 if all goes well, and i'm guessing a little over an hour for FF?
I think decapitated and hypocrisy were supposed to get about 30 mins, fear factory played about an hour and a half. Should be around 5 hours total for the whole show.
ugh, long ass breakdown and setups? oh well i can entertain myself by slipping something in snorterangel's drinker and watch her vomit all over her own cleaveage :)
3 hours and 15 minutes of bands, 1 hour and 45 minutes of setup breakdown for four bands. That's around 25 minutes per band. There's nothing odd about that timing.
i'm more used to festival pacing (maximum 15 minutes between bands).

if i can comfortably finish a beer between sets it feels like too long.

the worse is when bands (headliners) finish setting up 20 minutes after the previous band finishes and broke down, and then wait anoter 30-45 minutes before they hit the stage. okay, you're the headliner and want people to anticipate your taking of the stage, whatever, we get it, but when it's already midnight and you don't even take the stage at 12:30, you can fuck right off, people of work and school the next day and shit and many don't stick around to watch headliner or only part of their set because of this shit.

please report back re: length and quality of sets, amount of time between sets, and if you're sober enough to keep track, setlists. :)

Yes, but the other bands are better than fear factory! Why did they get 3 death metal bands to support them? It makes no sense!

by Lumber Jack Off
the other 3 bands got great exposure to an audience that might not have gone to see them otherwise. just think, it could be a lot worse. fuck, stop crying you fucking faggots.

These bands have been going for years. It's not as if they're up and coming bands looking for kids to jump onto their bandwagon. All bands are well-established and I doubt they'll gain many fans from the tour, I'd expect more fans to go see the 3 bands and leave before fear factory than fans watching 3 bands they'd not normally like.

maybe in Europe. Fear Factory are pretty big in North America still, they bring in a larger audience then Suffocation, Hypocrisy, Decapitated would combined. yes, they are established and have been around for years, the point is they want more exposure so that they can sell more shit. stop being such a douchebag elitist metalhead, you make the rest of us look bad.

Wez most people were there for all four bands, well actually make that the last three three (for Decapitated the house was less than half full and the people who were there seemed anxious and bored.. ), it was the same people in the same crazy circle pits for Hypocrisy, Suffocation, and Fear Factory, all singing along to every single song by all three bands.

i got there towards the end of Hypocrisy. the pit during Suffocation looked sick.

i was right by the soundboard (under where the upstairs precipice juts out) and Hypocrisy sounded muffled. where were you and how was the sound?

i was at the bar, they finished playing by the time i got my drink. they sounded fine i guess, i wasn't paying attention to them really.

 well schitt that can't have been good!

i must have walked by you a million times. cool i was afraid you were going to say you were on the other side (stage right side of the bar opposite the merch table where they usually do signings), there were three preppy looking gurls all dressed up fancy at the top of the stairs and a couple times when i passed i stumbled over the top step (we pregamed hard on the trainride out w/ vodka rootbeer) and i could hear them giggling at me and at first was like "they're probably giggling cause they think i have nice hair and a huge penis" and then when i tripped again on the way back i realized "no they think you're a fucking goober" and the next thought was fuck that better not be snorter. :x :)
