Based on an article I read in the LA Times this morning I would say that you're correct. He was earning $4.5 million a year. Rumour alert! Supposedly Chris Pronger got a beat reporter in Edmonton pregnant, and she told him halfway through the season. And also supposedly, that's why his wife wants him out of the city. My brother sent my sister this quote from somewhere, and she sent it to me. Total rumour, probably from a message board, but hey...gossip is good.
"Well, the reason Pronger's wife wants to leave Edmonton is not because she hates the city or the people. Apparently Pronger got a female beat reporter who covers the oilers pregnant. Christy Chorley is her name, and she told Prongs half way through the season. This is why it would be difficult for the Pronger family to settle down in edmonton."
