I don't really know much about the valvetronix range. I know that Orange just released a really tiny practice amp which looks pretty cool:

I really would like a tube combo amp like a 15 watter like the Fender blues junior but in my dorm that would be too damn loud. :lol:

I live in a house now, but it's going to stay in St Albans with my parents, where my band is based. It weighs a fucking ton, it hasn't even been upstairs yet, and probably never will be.. Try a blues junour and an AC15, stuff like that - you can still get good tones at low volumes. The AC30 can produce fairly quiet sounds, although it's definitely too loud to be just a practice amp. You can get small DIY kits for tiny class A stuff which would be perfect for you, from sites like this one:
