Spelt is actually correct as it is an alternative spelling for spelled.
spelt 1 a past tense and past participle of spell.
spelt 2 a hardy wheat grown in Europe and western Asia and used esp. for livestock feed.
it isn't alternate. there are two different types of English. there is American English, the global standard taught on every continent, and there is the vastly less common UK English. Spelt is the past tense of spell in UK English, while spelled is correct in American English. They're no more interchangeable than any other pair of different language (these two just happen to be very very very very very very similar.) You wouldn't substitute an Italian word in the middle of a conversation in German would you? This board being predominantly American, the majority rules so speak our fucking language.
i don't understand why a word doesn't count even if everyone knows what you mean when you use it.

Are you sure? We were taught the UK version in school.
Human remains in a beaker and tray and coffee pot. Bones which were being partly macerated, dissolved, in a margarine container which had engine coolant in it. It smelled very awful.

Whiners. Find out yourself if Behind the Music is replaying. Philip is spelled wrong? Give me a FUCKING break. Phillip can be right for other Phils. Do ya real think "he" is checking on the site to see who gets more fans? I'll praise him when he meets Darrell Abbott again. I want all of the remaining Pantera guys to live to be rich old white guys.
