has anyone actually ever met a christian rocker?

The place to talk about instruments, tab, the bands gear and anything else musically related.

Post by stoic »

who in the fuuuuck ARE these people? I swear. It seems like every guitar forum I click on...there's some fuck going on and about the tone he got at his band's practice for Sunday mass. Or 'this one time, during service...." or who knows what the fuck else. Seriously, harmony central, zzzounds, etc....reviews. it's like a goddamn cult of holy rolling rock ons is invading the internet. These people FRIGH TEN me. I've never met one person in my entire life who is so dedicated to god, that they make/join a band (of any kind...let alone metal or rock) to sing his praise. I don't even hardly know anyone who brings up God.

and yet, these people are really out there. Is this a montana/alabama thing? what states have these people, and what are the recommended thoroughfares I can take to detour them?

I think you're safe, Stoic. I would think you take the social avenues that these kinds of people avoid like the plague.
Izzy: do you realize how broad "environmental science" is?
Izzy: it's like going to school for history
Izzy: well, more useful than that
Izzy: but an expert on the civil war won't know jackshit on uhh
Izzy: something that isnt the civil war

talkbass.com is FULL of guys like that.
Some are decent to talk to though.
You have exercised utmost discernment, far beyond that of the layman.

I saw Stryper in the 80's
"Are you, a soldier under Gods Command"
and that kind of shit.
Very talented, it's been awhile, but I remember the guitarist was amazing.
The most annoying part of the show was the 8000 "happy christians" that had no idea how to rock out. They were there because Stryper happened to be on thier churches "approved concert" list. No, really! A few people I talked to actually told me that.

there's a lot of them in jersey, but they disguise themselves as emo kids, which gets very misleading.

Christian rock is about on par with modern country on the annoying scale for me.
