If they didn't, it'd be pretty pointless to call it a Dimebag tribute show, wouldn't it?psychotim wrote:What is a good band ? Element Eighty, Manditory, Faktion, Necrogazm are all top bands... and every band will be playing a Pantera / Damageplan song on thier sets. Should be an awesome show.

And I like the creativity of those band names. "Manditory", I would've never thought of changing vowels around.

please dont let your name be a reference to durst, yes he should end his life, but the people who constantly rag about him are equally annoying.FredDie wrote:And where are bands like CoC, Crowbar, BLS etc.
That bands should pay their tribute to DimE!

Well, since this is a tribute show to Dime, the bands playing are nice to have when the other bands mentioned would be very very expensive to have here.... All the profits for this show are donated to the Dime Memorial Fund and with having COC, Zakk and others like that on the bill, that would be a limited donation if any.
I would love to have those guys here too and did consider that, but in the end, to do a tribute show and make it fun and still donate a majority of the money made that night to Dime, we had to stay small on the first annual event of Dimefest and maybe grow bigger each year with larger bands.
Hopefully everyone will come out, it will be alot of fun, but I just couldnt afford those bigger names on the first Dimefest until I can figure out how to make the majority of the money donations each year.

If it's a tribute show and the profits are going to a charity, any band that was friends with Dime should do it for free. Bands like Drowning Pool, BLS, and the remaining members of Damageplan shouldn't have to be paid to pay tribute to someone who is supposedly their friend.

Have you heard any of these bands play? prob not.Izzy wrote:It is cool, but it's too bad they can't get good bands to show up.
what since their not all big name big label bands their not good?
every band has to start somewere they just don't form a band become sighned over night. Hell pantera, metallica, testament, all bands started like this.
Necrogasm puts on a damn good live show, their a very tight band and have a couple of really good guitar players.
Mod effect are really good too and have their own sound and style, diesal are good too.
Try listening to these bands first before making a stupid ass comment like that
Actually, Testament was formed through a nationwide search, much in the vein of "Making the Band 2", except Lionel Richie was the P. Diddy of that situation.

Exactly, those who are complaining about the line-up are free to organise their own shit, I'm sure Slayer, BLS, etc. are sitting by the phone right now waiting for your callpsychotim wrote:It is definitely a nightmare putting on a festival of bands and such, but it is all worth it for Dimebag.

Considering that a lot of the board dosen't live in Texas and has never heard of these local bands, i think he meant some national acts should be playing there.koth wrote:Have you heard any of these bands play? prob not.Izzy wrote:It is cool, but it's too bad they can't get good bands to show up.

All these big bands should play for free if they were friends of Dime. They can afford it.. Or can they?
