paticularly for speed/alternate/sweep picking
it forces you to pivot on your elbow or wrist, completely level with the strings.
no forearm twisting bullshit anymore
it's unbeleivable how much it's improved my playing in only an hour of practicing with it.
sounds cool.. i just may have to pick a couple up.

I never heard of this until now. The websites about it, and the logo for the Stylus Pick like outdated as fuck. How long has this been around? And why haven't I heard of this? We didn't carry any when I used to work at Guitar Center last summer.

jazz III's are good for shredding but when it commes to death metal riffing i find it really difficult as the pick is always catching. Dunlop babys stubbys are much better IMO although they wear out fucking quickly.
Once more unto the breech dear friends, for England,Harry and St George!

eeh well thats subjective. i dont have any difficulties with any type of picking, i think its a matter of practice.

i didn't ask what kind of pick you play that is your favorite
i said get this thing because it's a practice tool, not your standard run-of-the-mill pick. you don't use it for normal playing

fucking christ you people are hopeless
well, you didnt really specificate that in your first post. but anyways, are you supposed to just use your picking hand when practicing with this so called "stylus" pick?

it works with both, but puts emphasis on your picking hand.
if you look at the shape of it, the cone on the picking part of it is what is effective.
you only use the small tip to pick. if you get it caught on the other side of it, it catches the string and plucks it really hard.
so therefore it forces you to keep your hand/arm level, and to pivot on your wrist and/or your elbow
it gets rid of your forearm twisting motion (like a strum)
BUT it's not made for strumming
it's made for things like scales, sweeping, basic chops like that.
it's good shit
i'll see what i can do, i'll stop by kmart tomorrow because i ran my mic over with my chair and it cut the cord in half. and tomorrow is also my birthday so i'll probably record tuesday afternoon then look for a host. i don't know what i'll play but i think its going to be something by dream theater. but i could change my mind.
