Can you slave a tube amp into a solid state amp?

The place to talk about instruments, tab, the bands gear and anything else musically related.

for the tone, yes. only problem is that youll need a low-watt amp so you can get the cranked sound of tubes without having the volume of a stack.

Only if you are using separate cabs (or are using combos). I assumed he was asking if he can run one amp into another.

i used to play a guitar through a fender princeton 112 w/a jack labeled "preamp out" which i pluged a 1/4" cable from that to the input jack of my marshall jcm 800 amp head which was hooked up to a peavey cab and it worked just fine

As long as the preamp out defeats the connection to the power amp and stops the power amp from sending a load to the speaker it'll work swimmingly. Of course half the allure of tube amps is the preamp section slamming the power amp and rectifier tubes.

101 needs to be more specific about what he would seek to accomplish. When I think of master/slave relationships I think more of DAW or MIDI equipment.

You're quite stupid. It appears he wasn't even talking to you, he was looking for advice.

Zvex (one of my favorite effect companies/producers) makes a tube amp called the nano-head which is one-half watt and can be plugged into any 8 or 16 ohm cab.
