They're not terribly heavy, depending on the wood I'd say 20 to 30 lbs. They're a pain in the ass to transport, however.Hunter/Killer wrote:How much do upright bass' weigh?

So what do ya think pfloyd? The place is only 15 min from my house. It's great to just hang there sometimes, get advice and listen.Pfl?yd wrote:They're not terribly heavy, depending on the wood I'd say 20 to 30 lbs. I wish we had a store like that but it probably wouldn't stay in business here. Omaha, while having an abundance of musical talent, has most of its focus on singer/songwriter and indie types; neither of those musical approaches call for people rushing in throngs to pick up the bass and those that do are generally "too cool" to be excited about gear.

I love watching the brothers play a drumset. They're all about going for style points with really exaggerated movements and facial expressions, even if they're just playing some simple shuffle thing.stoic wrote:there's always older brothers in guitar center playing bass. they always got their eyes closed and the pain face on when they're playing. lol. least where i live. the young ones are always in the turntable/mixer section pretending they're kid capree.
And this guy is hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FX_84iWPLU

Yeah, he played with Steely Dan. Funny dude regardless, I just like some his facial expressions, especially when he first opens the hi-hat like some chick just tongued his asshole.stoic wrote:oh shit that is funny. dude i saw him i think on the steely dan behind the music..right? what'd he say in it again?.."they called me the hitman..cuz if they wanted a hit...they called ME" or something.
