i think the most i'd pay for a guitar is about 5g. I can't fathom spending much more than that, and i doubt the quality is that much different after about 5g.
oh I prefer les pauls by the way, although explorers are decent as well. i HATE sg's tho...not that anybody was askin about that.

I'd still trade my right nut for this flying v custom in silverburst or any color.

I'd go for a les paul, but at the same token i would probably go for another brand with more bang... (tone if you will) for the buck. Probably an esp.
I used to have an 87 studio, and it sounded great and played awesome despite the huge neck profile. Wish i never sold it. All the new studios i have played feel like a walmart guitar... what a shame.
