Needed a cheap bass...

Post by PABassPlayer »

to leave at the practice room so I could ride my bike to practice when it was nice out....I ordered this for $250.00 from Musicians Friend "blem" stock.

Does anyone have any experience with ESP/LTD basses? Sound? Quality?

Shit, you should have bought a Squier. Seems like I keep hearing that they are making some pretty good instruments for really low prices now.

i played a squier the other day and was surprised by how nice it played and sounded. I remember my squier felt like playing a soft block of wood and sounded like throwing a pillow at a door. fuckin' a.

I originally ordered the Epi Les Paul bass, it got great reviews, unfortuneatly it was back ordered until May 23rd, and the chick at Musicians Friend said they were all to fill other orders and that I "might" get mine late june/early july. So I decided to go with the LTD (blem) it was cheap ($80.00 less than retail) and available.

my point being bass in inaudible in metal music unless you're a band like Cynic, Atheist, Agorha, Spiral Architect, etc, etc.

Im sorry but you are wrong, bass frequencies are lower than the ones on vocals, guitars etc... so are not that "audibles" but they are there, bass is more of a rhythm support instrument, if there is no bass songs would be a bright mess. play any of your favorite "metal" songs in you stereo and cut the bass on the eq all the way... you will know what i am talking about

No, just generic metal. That just happens to be most of it now.
