You're essentially paying for that Buzz Feiten system which is awesome on guitar but it pretty much superfluous on bass unless you play a lot of double-stops and chords above the 12th fret.
Izzy: do you realize how broad "environmental science" is?
Izzy: it's like going to school for history
Izzy: well, more useful than that
Izzy: but an expert on the civil war won't know jackshit on uhh
Izzy: something that isnt the civil war

So its useless unless I want to do all that stuff its pretty useless. Have buzz feiten on a pi70 and its not too good, maybe ive fucked it up. I play alot of chords around the 12th fret, rarely over it. what are double stops in your bass terminology, dont link me to wikipedia peoplePfl?yd wrote:You're essentially paying for that Buzz Feiten system which is awesome on guitar but it pretty much superfluous on bass unless you play a lot of double-stops and chords above the 12th fret.

Two-note chords, more or less. I do bends and shit like that with them. It sounds cool.goshuaspenis wrote:So its useless unless I want to do all that stuff its pretty useless. hard rock for the meantime, I need something that can hold drop d tunings, nothing lower than that. Work in standard and drop d. Just want an all round good bass sound. Nothing to splodgy or too fine just a nice groove.
Some of the bass work follows the guitar lines such as several repeating notes played fast etc for chorus and all that. Others involve single note slides and that kind of caper

You can't ever go wrong with a Fender Jazz (though some think it's not "hard rock" enough). Ibanez and Schecter both make full-scale basses that are good in that price range.
