Pantera at the fitness center

Post by Bar Rat »

The other day, I was working out and I could faintly hear Psycho Holiday coming out of the speakers. They had it turned way down low. Should I have went up to the desk, shook my fist and demanded them to pump that shit so I could get my pump on?

Mine too. And it's funny because hardly any young people go there, it's all a bunch of old men in their 50s and 60s lifting like 20 pounds on the curls trying to stay alive another day.

Yesterday I happened to be wearing a Pantera shirt and someone at the gym recognized them as a great band, though  .

Projects in the Jungle is the best album to listen to in the gym, bar none. I like to wear sunglasses when I listen to it.

I agree. Heavy Metal Rules is the quintessential 'gym' track. I doubt even the most serious ManOwarrior would find fault in that. Might I also suggest ManOwar's Battle Hymns if your workout outlasts Project's running time?

That kind of music's too heavy for me. I like a positive workout, not an angry one!

It's true- ManOwar's own patented brand of Battle hymn based bludgeonment may be may be heavier than an imperial tonne of reinforced British Steel, but you'd be surprised how positive and upbeat some of the tracks are. The musicianship is restrained and disciplined much like a good workout should be.

Of course, it goes without saying- consult with your personal trainer before choosing new workout music, but once you have I would say definately consider Def Leppard's High 'n Dry as an option. Stylistically it's very similar to Pantera's 1984 magnum opus.

Best of luck, d00d (dude),

same happen at my gym..

last week..around 9pm...just a few guys lifting some weigths and listening to some brazilian music (believe me, you´d hate it) and a teacher changed the cd for a Slayer,Pantera,Sepultura,Anthrax cd....

just played 4 songs, and people started to say they cant do anything with all this noise.
those guys are stupid.
thats the reason i go to the gym with my mp3 player.

i like to listen to :
Biohazard,Anthrax,Superjoint,Pantera,Sepultura,Slayer,Hatebreed,Motorhead,Nashiville
Pussy,B.L.S.,.... when i´m on the gym.
