Isis kicked ass last night, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed with their setlist. They played a LOT of songs from their last two albums. They only played two from Panopticon and one from Oceanic. Considering this is a Farewell Tour, they should have balanced it out a bit more. Or just said "fuck our newer albums" and only played shit from Oceanic and Panopticon.

Saw this in Philly, great show. Melvins kicked ass too, first time I've seen em live.
Goddamn, this is one wacky game show.

the melvins do a much better job with two drummers than kylesa. both drummers are pretty good.

I like both bands.

and I is it a gimmick? I don't know but it does add a little something to seeing them live even so. I mean it's not like they are making more money from having two drummers. if anything they lose money on that shit because they are playing the same shit. it wouldn't make sense if they were simply doing it because it's a gimmick and they want to make money. fuck.

kylesa play around here a lot and they are one of my favorite bands to see because they could play in a shitty ass DIY venue and it would still be a kick ass show. not a lot of bands can pull that off as they would absolutely suck without pro sound.

Maybe it's not a gimmick but it's still a stupid idea. The whole time I watched them (maybe half their setlist), they were only playing different drum lines once.
