Pentagram was in D standard tuning for it's demos and C# for everything on Relentless and beyond.

I thought slayer used c# on diabolus onward, with the exception of the 7 string songs.

Re: Metal Band Tunings
I play B standard on my practice guitar, with E standard on my main axe.
Re: Metal Band Tunings
I tune to A on my LTD AX-350, B on my USA-made Jackson King V, and E on my Jackson Pro Mustaine sig King V. I expect to see both our names on this list by sundown.

Re: Metal Band Tunings
a is a very low tuning!
Re: Metal Band Tunings
Indeed it is. I've experimented with tuning to G and have tried heavier strings to the point of having a wound G and filing out the nut to accept .70 low E as well as extensively adjusting bridge height and neck bowing, but imo A is the lowest you can go on a 6 string and still maintain playability.

I have a 27" Baritone 7 string. I tune it to GCGCGCE because I wish I could be Devin Townsend. A on the low string on a 27" scale is

Guacamole Queen Guacamole Queen Guacamole Queen
