It all depends on your criteria, there are a lot of factors that come into play regarding how good someone is.
For me, I'll just say 8/10 to 8.5/10.

in no order: Dime's riffs are more impressive than his technical skills. Thing about Dime is that he held back a lot for his solos. He just wanted to write stuff that fit with the overall feel of the song, and a lot of the time it was just cool ass licks and memorable parts. But one of the craziest...

That's most likely what it was. But Steve Digiorgio is/was the bassist for Death, Sadus and Testament. He plays fretless and he's fucking great. He's one of (if not) my favorite metal bassists. Check out Death's Individual Thought Patterns, all of Sadus' albums, and Testament's The Gathering. Will ...

It's cool man, I can dig it. Sorcerer is probably my favorite one so far. You guys are really tight and all play well. Good stuff  I wrote that one :aargh:  The guy who produced it for us was brilliant, he always took the time to get the perfect take even though he wasn't charging us by t...

I'll check em out warhead! Actually, I learned psalm a few months ago when i made a thread about nevermore. it was the only song i knew that was playable on a six string so i tried that one out. I think the only sweep passages on that album was on the last track and psalm.. and just one sweep lick ...

Most of his lead writing on the latest album is unfocused in my opinion. But on his previous ones, especially Dead Heart in a Dead World, his soloing is very well written. Check out the solo from Engines of Hate, intro to Psalm of Lydia, arpeggio section near the end of This Godless Endeavour, Enemi...

I'm going to have to disagree with some of the later comments. jeff loomis is pretty good and all, but i would not hold him in such high esteem. oh and dont take me wrong, I love his music and songwriting but having the capability to play his stuff isn't amazing. (when compared to other guitarists ...

That was fucking awesome. We gained a lot of fans and got a lot of compliments. Got a great response from the crowd. At first they made us stand outside the club and we could only watch Testament from outside looking through the door. That was the gayest shit ever. After a couple songs they actually...

This is a tab I made for it (nothing else to do) if anyone wants to learn it. It's a complete brain teaser at first but it's fun to play when you can do it off muscle memory. Here's another guess solo. Pretty easy one. I recorded this after I got baked with my drummer earlier, so don't mind the mistakes.
