I'm sure they sounded fine, but a smaller amp driven hard will sound better at the same volume.

You really don't need that much power unless you're playing live with a band. To be honest, even 20 watts is more than you need.. you want to be able to drive it, there's no point having a 50 watt amp that you can't turn past 1.

floyd is that the 90 watt behringer bass amp? how is it? im looking for a bigger bass amp. No, it's a 200-watt multiple-input keyboard/PA amp. Works well enough for keys and electronic drums. Not gig-worthy though. Nothing by Behringer is. The sax player in Efflux used a plastic Behringer delay ped...

is it worth having a tube amp if 95% of your playing is in your basment at low volumes? for the tone, yes. only problem is that youll need a low-watt amp so you can get the cranked sound of tubes without having the volume of a stack. i see.. any reccomendations? The Boss GT series (i think that's what their multi effects are called) are really good. I have a Korg AX1500g that is decent, but the Boss pedals are basically indestructible. The amp modeling and distortion on those things normally suck though.

well the way i look at it... as long as you have good tone, the whole band is in tune, and you NEVER STOP THE SONG, keep it going smooth, stay on beat, most people wont notice any small mistakes. the biggest mistake you can make is starting a song over again because of some stupid shit only you guy...

Big Muffs can be amazing, but you need the right set up. I have one that I never use, because single coil pups = insanely high noise from an already noisy pedal and you really need some reverb after it to get a good sound - my amp doesn't have any :x

On the plus side, they are extremely cheap!
