I would go tuner > eq (although this could be useful anywhere) > overdrive > wah > delay > noise suppressor > amp. You might find that you can get good results with some of the stuff in the effects loop, but personally I probably wouldn't stray far from that order.

The other guitarist in my band has a mesa nomad, a 50watt 1 x 12. He has been having reliability problems with it but it's old, and the high gain sound is great.

To be perfectly honest, 8 strings are so uncommon that you're not going to get one for less than a seriously nice 6 or 7 string, especially with a custom body shape.

My first pedal was the AX1500g. The distortions, overdrives and amp simulators will probably sound like dogshit but the delays and modulations should be cool, plus it's easy to use and you can assign different parameters to different controls pretty easily :tup:

Cool, you should be spoilt for choice from their range :tup: I don't know much about interfaces, but I have a focusrite saffire 10 i/o, they also do a smaller interface with 4 xlr inputs which would be perfect for solo vocal and guitar.
