BTW.. i am direct mounting the pickups. That's something i've been pretty particular to. I plan on using a tone zone in the bridge, and maybe an evolution in the neck.

Building a V from warmoth

I am basically trying to build a wolfgang out of a v... as in i am going to use the same radius, neck profile, nut width, maple/maple setup on the neck. But i want to have the v shape. I am worried about losing some whatever it is that you lose when it comes to v's in the neck pickup. The wolfgang i...

www.floydupgrades.com makes a simple stop, for $20.
But if your handy you should be able to make one like it for a few bucks.

Otherwise block that bastard with a chunk of wood. More sustain as well.

I can see why they would come off like that in a huge venue, especially when a large part of the crowd probably wasn't even into them.
I got to see them 3rd row at DTE. The crowd sucked. They do need to be in clubs.

Im not sure what the circuit is like on that amp, may be a bad tube. Or worse it could be a bad component in the circuit.
It's a pretty new model and im sure it will go thru another revision, so i wouldn't doubt if it was faulty right off of the line.

It all matters on the metals that form your string, and i could see how coatings would affect pinch harmonics. You might want to try doing the studs. The two metals might (probably do, from what you're describing) have very different resonant properties and some of that is maybe getting lost when sound resonates in the bridge, studs, body, etc. It's worth a shot, i'll have to buy new studs though. The studs...
