I figured it out. I had everything wired up right initially, but taking the guitar to a room with better lighting revealed a tiny, almost hair thin piece of solder shorting my circuit. :x Easy fix though. My soldering iron fucking sucks... I was never a fan of the active pickup until recently, and I...

All I have to say is that if you're using a high output pickup, get a MINIMUM 500k pot. Wires really don't matter a hell of a lot as long as you solder everything properly. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Potentiometers/Specialty_Control_Pots.html As the site says "A 1 Meg-ohm ...

Everyone plays in Drop D nowadays  I don't know why people get all pissy about tunings. Alternate tunings have existed as long as guitars themselves. Mid 90s Alternative Rock and Late 90s/early 2000s "Nu Metal" didn't INVENT every tuning that isn't EADGBE. People have been pl...

So do you have any guitars that are more than 2k? And do they have custom specs? No, because I don't think a guitar should cost that much. 1,000, fine. But anything over 1,500 is pushing it. I don't understand why you're asking me this question though. All I was trying to say is that PRS guitars ar...

Honestly? No. I challenge the notion that any factory guitar is worth over 1500 dollars. Once you hit the 2k mark, you should be entitled to custom specifications.

And I've played a few PRS guitars. Very nice, but not worth the price tag.

To be perfectly honest, 8 strings are so uncommon that you're not going to get one for less than a seriously nice 6 or 7 string, especially with a custom body shape. True, but if I have some private person who builds guitars (and knows what they're doing) put together a neck and body with no electr...
