ive played an epiphone SG from a friend lately. the whole thing was a little off balance, but the guitar is so light it took a minimum amount of effort to keep it in playing position.

I don't think my playing style is that wrong, this is the first time I've had a cracked cymbal in about 6 years I think. The fucked thing is that my top hi-hat keeps spinning around, so making it face away only works to an extent. I'll don't think I can escape replacing it. Once I'll do that I'll pr...

anybody ever play a gibson explorer

I played an explorer bass yesterday. It struck me that when I let the thing go to its rest position, the neck was pointing down in an angle of about 45 degrees. It took a constant effort to keep the thing in a good playing position. I'm looking into acquiring a new guitar, possibly a gibson (epiphon...

whos played a gibson explorer

I played an explorer bass the other day, and the thing that struck me was that if you hang the thing around you and leave it in rest position, the neck tends to point 45 degrees down. Seemingly by the way the bass is shaped. You have to make an effort to keep the thing in a playable position. As I'm...

Anybody experience with drilling out cracks in cymbals?

I found a crack in my hi-hat, I really really hate it when that happens. Anyway, I'm probably gonna let it be and hope for the best, but in the back of my head I'm considering drilling it out. Has anybody ever done this? How great is the risk the drilling will only cause more cracks? Does it influen...

Check the fuse, you could also open the whole thing up further to see whats going on, its probably nothing too complicated. If youre not really sure what youre doing though, leave it and take it back to the store. If you just got it, theyll fix it for you

Every solo I play comes down to pentatonics, Im so used to it, I can't unlearn it During fast palm muting I put my pick in too much of an angle with the snares, gives it a scratchy sound I don't want. Ok doc, you take criticism pretty bad, if someone doesn't like your song that doesn't automatically make them a close minded metalhead. About the songs, I'm not a big fan. The thing that bothers me is that the extremely nervous beat doesn't really match the melody IMO. No harm in that though, cause ...

AM radio on guitar amp

When I'm playing guitar on my amp, every now and then some radio station comes through. Usually it's only audible when I have the guitar's volume turned down, but lately it comes through with the volume open, and that makes it pretty annoying. The pickup spools and the cable must be acting like an a...
