I use my GT-6 with my little practice amp to beef it up a bit, but my main rig is just a straight up 5150 block letter with BBE 482i and sounds great.

My 5150's preamp gain is set around 5 or 5.5. I use a BBE 482i which cleans it up nicely and it doesn't sound muddy, but has tons of cinder block to the face chunk to it. :aargh:

I've heard one being played by some local death metal band. I was anxious to hear it because I had wanted one for a while but was unimpressed to say the least. Sure, he might have had the EQ set for shit, but in my experience it sucked. Also new Mesas suck anyhow. Not hard to stomp them. Get an old ...

I had one of em' too and it's not bad if you're going to be running a multi-fx board through the clean channel, but if you want to use the amp's gain (which actually sounds good, don't get me wrong) you better have a noise suppressor in the loop somewhere. They're both Deans, therefore they both rule, but my vote goes to the 79 ML. As far as I know, the 79 is made out of mahogany as opposed the Dime-O-Flage's basswood body, and I prefer the tone out of mahogany over any other wood. If you can, try em' both out and see which you like better, but if it ...

Dean ML Select that I posted about is my main guitar, LTD EC-1000 Deluxe in black finish is my 2nd, and I play a nigger-rigged Korean model Jackson Kelly with the Floyd locked down with EMG's installed.

My favorite out of all of them is the Dean. \m/

I've heard both ways. People either love or hate the Dimebuckers. I'll take my chances as I've never actually played one.

As for a Floyd, no thanks. I'm sick of those goddamn things. My other ML has a Floyd if I want to use it.

Thanks dudes. Actually I prefer the block inlays over dots. The dots are too plain or something. Still like Jackson sharkfins, but that'd look queer on a Dean ML. My new guitar....

Picked up a Dean ML Select yesterday at a local music store that's going out of business. They're having a huge sale where everything is marked 50% off. Got it for $299. \m/ Gonna drop a Dimebucker in the bridge next paycheck...
