Play em and figure it out, It really depends on what you play/how you play. an Original is always a good choice though.

I know a few of you put together some really good stuff on your home computers, I'd like to try this out but there is a ton of software out there and its fuckin expensive. What do you use and reccomend?

I have the original spider 210 (50w) and if you take the time to dial it in, it sounds good at medium volume levels.. Its an improvement if all you have now is some sort of practice amp. I wouldnt reccomend it though. IMO a much better amp in the same class/price range would be the CRATE RFX120.. n...

i suppose you have to give them some credit for at least attempting to play something semi-cool.. most kids want to play bullshit like Tool and STP.

it depends.. I've got a late 80's super strat that Fender put out to compete w/ the charvels, ibanez, etc of the day.. It has a Kahler licensed floyd rose trem, and since its so different I cannot just put a regular FR or licensed FR because I'd have to reroute the whole thing. and it mounts slightl...

yep, but depending on the exact make/model of the trem you might have difficulty finding parts for it.. Pots are a dime a dozen.. throw some modern pickups in that bitch and clean up the trem, you've got a pretty sweet axe to work with.

85 in the bridge pos, 60 in the neck pos. my personal pref.. once you go EMG you never go back.. except for the one guy. the clean tones have almost a chorus like effect when played "clean" through a decent amp. (on the 60 anyways) 81's are good as well.. but the guitar construction will a...

Whatever works for you then. I just imagined it sounding thin. on of my fav guitars is an Epiphone strat copy w/ an explorer style neck on it. I have a fake Lawrence humbucker in the bridge and it sounds nasty in that good chunky way.. only problem is the high notes are shrill as hell and its imposs...

i use GHS TnT's but I like the tension tight.. I play mostly in standard, but they handle detuning to C pretty well.. they are a little on the loose side, but its not crazy loose.. thats on a strat scale w/ 22 frets not that I think it would make a huge difference on something else. You'll probably ...

Guys like Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen, petrucci, whatever.. have technique down.. They play crazy fast and thats about it. Playing isnt about being the most technically proficient its about expressing feeling. I'll be the first to admit, some of dimes solo's do border on noise.. but I get a kick out of...
